The Hotel was, in fact, built as a privat Villa in 1890 by the then-famous local architect Pietro Delugan to serve as his very own personal visiting - card - the perfect example of his art and skill and certainly with one of the most beautiful facades in all Merano at that time. The building is now justly recognised as a true jewel of the decoratet Liberty stile and has been under the protection of the Belle Arti, a national society for valuable historic buildings, since the year 1984.
